Job Description: Entry-Level Technology Assistant (Part-Time)
Position Overview:
RFCSC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Technology Assistant. This position will play a crucial role in supporting technology initiatives and maintaining the smooth operation of technology systems across our school district. As an Entry-Level Technology Assistant, you will work closely with the technology team to provide technical support and assistance to teachers, staff, and students.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support: Provide low-level technical assistance and troubleshooting support to teachers, staff, and students regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues. (e.g., printer jams, loose cabling, etc.).
2. Help Desk Requests: Respond to help desk tickets and requests from end-users, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
3. Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Assist in the setup, maintenance, and deployment of computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and other technology devices across the district.
4. Software Installation and Updates: Assist with the installation and updates of software applications and operating systems on various devices.
5. Classroom Technology Support: Collaborate with teachers to ensure the proper functioning of technology equipment in classrooms, such as projectors, interactive whiteboards, and audiovisual systems.
6. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of technology equipment, including tracking repairs, replacements, and disposal.
7. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation, manuals, and user guides for common technology issues and procedures.
8. Training and Workshops: Assist in conducting training sessions and workshops for teachers and staff on technology-related topics, such as software usage and basic troubleshooting.
9. Safety and Security: Follow established safety and security protocols for technology systems, including implementing data privacy measures and ensuring compliance with district policies.
10. Complete PC & Chromebook Repairs (training provided).
11. Provides local support during standardized assessment and online testing sessions.
Qualifications:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Technical Skills: Familiarity with various hardware and software technologies commonly used in educational settings, such as Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), and multimedia software.
3. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and provide clear instructions and guidance.
4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
5. Organization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive relationships with colleagues and end-users.
7. Customer Service Orientation: A customer-centric approach to providing technical support, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to teachers, staff, and students.
8. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools as they are introduced within the district.
9. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and documentation.
10. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move technology equipment, such as computers and printers, as needed. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and climb a ladder.
Compensation:
This is an entry-level position offering $12.63 to $15.00/hr., commensurate with experience and qualifications and is 30 hours per week. Training can be provided for the right individual
