SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The Systems Engineer III - O365/AD/VDI demonstrates technical competency in specific tools and technologies as determined by the strategic direction of IS. This position specifically includes designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and offering end-user support for a virtual desktop (VDI) environment. The position will also monitor system performance across multiple platforms and perform routine maintenance activities to ensure system performance.
Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Must be able to provide complete administration of the Microsoft 365 environment and its capabilities.
Administer and maintain Exchange Online.
Implement and support security policies, such as data retention, conditional access policies.
Support the messaging environment in the Cloud (Microsoft 365).
Manage problem resolution to a satisfactory completion by keeping abreast of assigned tickets and following the proper escalation processes via ticketing system.
Review, test, and make recommendations for standard email practices.
Experience with supporting anti-spam filtering, logging and email tracking and transport rules.
Level 3/4 support for Microsoft 365 issues.
Support Single Sign-On using Active Directory Federation Services with Multi Factor Authentication.
Understand and have experience with moving from on-prem ADFS to Azure Services.
Perform scripting administration tasks and reporting using PowerShell.
Develop scripts for automating processes within the environment.
Help ensure team performance meets or exceeds defined Service Level Agreements.
Perform migrations and deployments related to the building, upgrade and maintenance of MS Exchange.
Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 365 Teams and other M365 apps.
Able to mentor/train others in M365 administration/support.
Create security and distribution groups in Active Directory.
Create user guides and instructional documents for end-users.
Assigned group, file level permissions in Active Directory.
Train local support team members within the ticketing system.
Experience with ProofPoint is desired.
Extensive Experience in VMWare VDI (Horizon) is a plus.
Education and Experience
Associates Degree in Information Systems/CIS/CS or Equivalent Education preferred
5+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Baseline Certification per Career Development Plan
Plus 3+ Advanced Certifications and/or College Course per Career Development Plan
Network/Computer Skills
End-User Computing experience (desktop and notebook computers, desktop operating systems and applications, mobile, web and cloud applications, virtual desktops, etc.)
Virtual server/storage experience, including hyper-converged (Preferred)
Experience in any of the following technologies a plus:
