A Sales and Marketing Counselor is responsible for the sales activity to meet and exceed sales goals and expectations for Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with potential residents and their families to include tours, phone calls, and home visits with continuous follow up. Must have a passion to work with older adults and be able to manage time effectively. Collaborate with other team members and home office initiatives to execute our sales plan to achieve occupancy goals. Participates with the community leadership team to promote the mission to provide senior services that are guided by Christian values. The employee values the Community as the residents’ home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care.

Requirements for the position:
- Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or related field preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in marketing/sales in a senior living environment preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize our leads software to record all sales activity.
- Communication skills as follows: \* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. \* Must have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. \* Must have the ability to explain current residency fee structure and monthly service fee structure. \* Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with potential residents, visitors, and the general public.
- Must function independently when necessary, demonstrating flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents, staff and support agencies.
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for achieving sales goals.

Carries out the duties and responsibilities of the position in a professional manner.

Meets the needs of the work schedule (promptness, attendance), unless otherwise excused, and makes appropriate use of time while at work. Demonstrates flexibility to meet the demands of job duties when special events, prospect tours or other tasks require a schedule that is outside typical business hours.
Follows established safety protocols as appropriate for position and/or location.
Customer Service duties are exhibited through promptness, accuracy, empathy, clarity, good communication, tone and appropriateness with non-PMMA staff (i.e., residents, resident families, outside community, vendors, etc.) and with the PMMA team.
Provides and initiates creative, practical problem-solving recommendations and/or takes the initiative to appropriately meet the goals or expectations at hand.
Lends support to the Executive Director as a key member of the leadership team for the community. Meets regularly with the Executive Director concerning the marketing programs and to adjust marketing approaches as needed.
Appropriately uses property, supplies and productivity during work time.
Performs additional duties as reasonably assigned.
Plans, implements, evaluates, and directs the marketing programs of the Community.
Keeps up to date on Medicare/Medicaid program, private insurance and other financial assistance programs available to the resident and provides information to prospective residents/families.
Maintains good working relationships with the medical profession and other health related organizations as well as other community referral sources.
Represents the company to the greater community. Participates in the community at large to establish marketing opportunities.
Keeps up to date on business trends in senior living and on the local senior living market.
Tracks and evaluates marketing activities and their results. Maintains and works a contact/prospective resident list.
Provides tours of the Community to prospective residents and their families.
Meets with prospective residents and/or resident families to explain services.
Coordinates marketing activities with other departments as necessary.
Evaluates applications for appropriate admission (placement) and to ascertain that applicant meets financial qualifications.
Provides required information to new residents to ensure a quality admission experience (resident rights, handbooks, etc.).
Secures and maintains publicity releases as needed for external use of resident information.
Supports nursing assessments for prospective admission to healthcare or assisted living.
Develops and delivers orientation and in-service training on the topics of customer service and marketing as directed or requested by the Executive Director.
Prepares the marketing budget for approval by the Executive Director. Maintains records of departmental expenditures as required and makes adjustments in order to conform to budget.
Protects the residents and PMMA by not disclosing or using resident health, or financial information for any purpose other than treatment for the resident, payment and operations.
Values and respects the choices and preferences of residents and works to create attributes of home to fulfill the mission of the organization.
Upholds resident rights and confidentiality at all times. Creates and supports a physical environment which is accessible and supports privacy, independence and comfort.
