Job Description
The Director of Marketing is responsible for three main areas: 1) driving donor retention, revenue, and recruitment; 2) building our brand; and 3) providing internal support to our fundraising teams. Across these areas, this role will help develop and drive integrated marketing strategies across online and offline channels; build and implement fundraising campaigns; and oversee email marketing, events, website, collateral, and branding efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage direct response campaigns, from concept to completion.
Develop integrated content for multiple use cases, from collateral to email marketing to event scripting to video scripting.
Oversee quality assurance to ensure all content is high quality, on-message, and on-brand.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, positive brand presence in the marketplace.
Manage collateral development including project briefs, content production, and project managing to execution in collaboration with Creative Services Manager.
Collaborate with the SVP of Marketing & Communications in annual planning for marketing strategies across online and offline channels.
Develop a lead generation strategy for mass market audience.
Support impactful and dynamic fundraising efforts in collaboration with the fundraising team.
Provides insights, analytics, and thought leadership efforts that drive optimal messaging in marketing outreach materials and content.
Manages project budgets, resources, and timelines.
Identify donor insights that will guide strategic planning for donor retention, brand awareness, and revenue growth.
Explore new marketing channels and methodologies that will enhance fundraising efforts.
Collaborate with international marketing colleagues at other Opportunity offices.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in a marketing function with increasing responsibilities
Prior experience in non-profit marketing
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic, creative content efforts
Outstanding verbal communicator
Excellent writer across many lengths/forms/channels, with relentless attention to grammatical detail
Skilled in storytelling, from concept to interview to writing
Understanding of fundraising mechanisms and principles
Ability to distill complex issues into digestible content that moves people to action
Experience working on events
Strong project management skills
Demonstrates high standards for quality outputs
Skilled in building and maintaining relationships across the domestic organization as well as with global colleagues, partners, and clients
Experience in radio and other alternative channels is a plus.
Experience in global development a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional domestic and international travel opportunities may arise (2-4 trips total per year)
