Job Description
Job Profile Summary
The Sales District Leader works to support, and assists the agency business owners in their role as independent contractors who have the right of control over the manner and means by which they sell insurance and otherwise operate their businesses. Coach and advise agency business owners on developing the district's profit and growth plan. Establish and influential business relationships with independent contractor agency business owners to assist them with building agencies that achieve profit, growth and customer satisfaction goals. Also promote communication between American Family agency business owners and us by engaging agency business owners as separate business owners in corporate strategy and direction.
Compensation Minimum:$111,200/ year
Compensation Maximum:$194,900/year

Primary Accountabilities:
Support and uphold the role of agency business owners as independent business owners. Ensure that agency business owners understand and make the connection between the corporate strategy and their practices and results; consider both corporate and agency needs when determining priorities.
Provide guidance to agency business owners and staff by exhibiting influence and expertise. Coach and advise agency business owners on sales results and execution of the state sales plan.
Assist agency business owners in understanding the profit of the district, while preserving the agency business owners' right to control the manner and means by which they sell insurance and otherwise run their own businesses.
Manage company plans for the district as they pertain to individual independent agency business owners.
Assist agency business owners as independent contractors in targeting and prioritizing the best sales activities and opportunities for them in their market and individual situation.
Provide business expertise to agency business owners to assist them in ensuring the successful operation of their businesses.
Sources and selects agency business owners to fill openings.
Build relationship with agency business owners and staff, respecting their role as owners of their own businesses.
Be a channel from American Family to agency business owners; provide coordination when needed.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Demonstrated management or leadership experience in the area(s) of accountability.
Solid knowledge and understanding of managing independent contractor relationships.
Solid knowledge and understanding of profit and growth measures.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of how to run a successful business.
Demonstrated experience successfully coaching individuals to performance targets.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of sales processes and solution selling.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial concepts and principles.
Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance products
Travel Requirement:
This position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
Education/Licenses Certification
Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance products: Property and Casualty, (personal lines authority does not qualify) Life and Health.
Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
This position is a hybrid role that involves working a minimum of 10 days per month in the office. We know flexibility is important to our employees and their families, and we will continue to offer flexibility in this flex office/home role. This approach will guide us in balancing the needs of the business, customers and our employees. The preferred location is Twin Cities, MN.
You will have 5+ years of experience in sales, business, leadership (coaching/consulting), marketing, and insurance experience.
You will report to the Sales Director.
