Job Description
Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) seeks an experienced marketing expert to serve as the university's Marketing Strategist. If you want to build on your skills and develop more knowledge and experience all while growing the Missouri S&T brand, this position is for you.
The Marketing Strategist will lead the development, monitoring and evaluation of integrated and evidence-based marketing plans and strategies to drive enrollment growth, expand the university's national visibility, and build Missouri S&T's reputation as a leading national research university. The Marketing Strategist reports to the Director of Digital Marketing as part of the Marketing and Communications team.
The Marketing Strategist will join a highly collaborative, cross-functional team that includes graphic and UX/UI designers, public relations writers, photographers and videographers, and executive-level communications functions and will be expected to develop integrated strategies focused on brand outcomes that leverage the skills and talents of the full Marcom team. This includes developing strategies, tactics and campaigns involving paid social, paid search, SEO, display, native, out-of-home, and media partnerships.
The Marketing Strategist will also be an analyst responsible for marketing intelligence and research, data analytics, and monitoring trends in marketing to improve campaign performance. The position will also be responsible for coordinating contractual arrangements with third-party vendors, including marketing consultants or agencies.
In short, the Marketing Strategist must be both the visionary and the person who rolls up their sleeves to get the job done.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications or closely related field and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and experience with marketing campaigns and tools
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong analytical, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
Design and/or copywriting experience
Project management abilities
Self-starter who can work independently
Strong desire to test, try and learn new things
