The scope of Hubbard's work includes complex highway projects, site development, paving, utility and drainage systems, surveying, RAP and hot mix sales, and state-of-the-art bridge building. General Description. An Accounting Clerk is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs in the Shared Service Center any combination of the duties described more fully, below. An Accounting Clerk typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the work flow dictates.
Key Duties
Process vendor invoices (including employee benefits and other cross company invoices)
Process vendor payments
Review vendor statements
Prepare journal entries for scanning
Serve as back-up to other department members
Prepare packages for FedEx delivery or certified mailing
Qualification Requirements
General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience. This position is an entry-level job and requires self-motivation. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Must be proficient with MS Office, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Prior SAP experience in A/P within a paperless system is preferred.
Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Accounting Clerk to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Employee must be able to periodically stand/sit for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 25 pounds personally and the ability to carry up to 15 pounds personally.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Continuous mental attention required to complete tasks in an efficient manner.
Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that an Accounting Clerk encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is performed predominately indoors.
