Job Description
Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Assistants, as well as 80+ team members across eight locations.
We are looking for a dynamic Lead Medical Assistant to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Lead Medical Assistant is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and functions as the resource person to the medical assistant I's and medical assistant II's . The lead also acts as a liaison between Clinical Manager/Supervisor and medical assistants. In addition, the Lead Medical Assistant keeps the supervisor apprised of early employee and clinic issues.
Essential Job Functions:
- Training new and existing employees
- Answer day-to-day physician and nurse practitioner inquiries
- Answer day-to-day Medical Assistant inquiries
- Act as a liaison between management and peers
- Assist in supervision of work and performance of back office staff
- Assist with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times and other areas of concern to increase efficiency and quality services
- Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Manager, Practice Manager, and Chief Operating Officer
- Assist with daily and monthly quality assurance reviews and monitoring
- Assure clinics are stocked with appropriate supplies and medication
- Assist in arranging coverage as needed
- Responsible for supply orders and counts
- Responsible for identifying when medical office equipment is due for calibration
- Policy and procedure review prior to implementation
- Process review prior to implementation
- Continuous process improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Medical Assistant certification or diploma required.
- Minimum four (4) years of medical assistant experience required.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of medical terminology required.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
- Prior experience working in an urgent care or specialty setting preferred.
