Seeking motivated 3rd shift Principal Specialist Engineer to fill key Maintenance, Repair and Engineering support role at Raytheon, Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance Engineering (MTEME) Department, located in Andover Massachusetts. The
MTEME department performs approximately 14,000 annual Calibrations, 12,000 annual repairs, and offers maintenance repair and
calibration support for over 450 test platforms supporting numerous production programs. The MTEME department also provides support in
capital equipment planning, project development of new test platforms, technical procedure writing, as well as providing solutions to address
test equipment obsolescence. The MTEME Department provides electrical and mechanical calibration and repair services of Commercial-Off-
The-Shelf (COTS) test equipment as well as unique manual and automatic test systems. The complement of test stations serviced includes
digital/logic & solid state, Radio Frequency (RF), DC low frequency, AC high power, vibration, in-circuit probe test, linear measurement, and
burn-in among many others. The incumbent Technical Support Engineer must be able to effectively operate in a high tempo operations
environment often with numerous revolving priorities. Must be capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing complex activities, often times with
actions requiring coordination across multiple support areas of expertise such as: Test Engineering, Test Equipment Design and
Development, and various Operations and Quality disciplines.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Candidate will work on 3rd Shift with minimal supervision supporting Patriot Missile functional area of Andover
- Will follow appropriate safety practices, will utilize proper PPE, and will support efforts to maintain an injury free work place
- Will work with represented technicians to troubleshoot faults in robotic, automated, and semi-automated test equipment including circuit
- Troubleshooting includes repair of COTS test equipment and often highly complex robotic and automated production test stations, often to
Qualifications You must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Strong familiarity with electronics, RF, as well as physical and dimensional and mechanical aspects of interfacing applications
- Experience troubleshooting & repairing motors, synchro/resolvers, pumps, motors, chillers, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems is a plus
- Experience developing, editing, and improving preventative maintenance, and calibration procedures, using intuitive techniques and
- Able to guide technicians in troubleshooting methodologies where vendor information is incomplete or lacking. Able to access, develop, and
