Job Summary:
What does Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) do?
SI&T integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

The Ground Radars and Platforms Center within SI&T seeks a Test Architect to be the technical lead for integration and test on the SPY-6(V)1 Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) variant.
The AMDR Test Architect leads teams across all AMDR sites including Marlborough, MA, Moorestown, NJ, Kauai, HI, and Pascagoula, MS.
The AMDR Test Architect will provide technical leadership through the hardware and software integration of the SPY-6(V)1 variant of the SPY-6 Family of Radars. The integration and testing of this radar will include modeling and simulation, test site activity, and shipboard testing. The Test Architect will be expected to develop the test strategy for radar standalone integration as well as integration of the radar with the combat system. The Test Architect will implement best practices, provide mentoring and guidance to the team and identify lessons learned to drive improvements to the integration phase for the additional radars.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The AMDR Test Architect is responsible for all radar integration and test activities in Massachusetts and at the AMDR test sites. Responsibilities include providing leadership and technical guidance for a multi-disciplined team and interfacing with the engineering and program management team in Marlborough, MA. The AMDR Test Architect will work closely with the SPY-6 Test Architect, SPY-6 Chief Engineer, and SPY-6 Lead Systems Engineer and will frequently interface with leaders and technical subject matter experts within the customer community. Duties include:
Develops, documents, and executes the integration and sell off strategy and plans for the SPY-6(V)1 radar.
Provides overall direction over the integration and test teams and activities.
Drives defect discovery and closure to include:
Ensures documentation of discovered defects during integration and test activities.
Triages and assigns priorities to defects in conjunction with CPT/Office of the Chief Engineer for resolution.
Develops fault trees or other artifacts for methodical burn down of root cause of defects.
Coordinates with capability development teams for receipt and checkout of defect fixes.
Works with the engineering and program leadership to identify any necessary equipment (Capital or GFx).
Coordinates with the I&T CPT lead for daily reporting to the program and customer.
Mentoring and training on-site engineers across multiple shifts and multiple sites.

This job is posted as ONSITE. Due to the nature of our work, this role is based onsite out of Marlborough MA, but could also be based from Tewksbury MA, Moorestown NJ, or Kauai HI, at the approval of the department manager.
This role may require travel between Marlborough, MA, Tewksbury, MA, Pelham, NH, Portsmouth, RI, Moorestown, NJ, Pascagoula, MS, and Kauai, HI. The role may require extended hours and may require the employee to support off-shift hours. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, OR a master’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience in systems engineering, systems integration, verification, and validation.
Experience leading a technical team in integration lab, test facility, or in the field, which included:
Responsibility for execution of technical and schedule performance
Coordination of efforts with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in radar integration
Experience with MATLAB or data analysis
Experience representing a program with external customers.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
Prior experience working at a remote test site.
Familiarity with UNIX and the ability to work in UNIX-based environments.
Experience working with the US Navy customer.
Experience working on naval radar programs.
Familiarity with IPDS, internal reviews, and gate reviews
Subject Matter Expert in Systems Integration, Verification, and/or Validation
Completion of the Test Architect Development Program
Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Math, Applied Physics, or Systems Engineering
