Next-of-Kin Support Specialist
This is a civilian position that works for a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports the Air Force Academy. This position does not require any military service requirements.
ASSOCIATION OF GRADUATES AND AIR FORCE ACADEMY FOUNDATION

THE OVERVIEW
The Air Force Academy Association of Graduates (“AOG”) & Foundation (“Foundation”), in support of the United States Air Force Academy (“Academy”), seek a caring and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Next-of-Kin Support Specialist (“Specialist”).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the main Point of Contact (POC) at the Association and Foundation to communicate with Next-of-Kin (NOK) of deceased graduate members; work with partners (i.e., USAFA Mortuary Affairs and Academy Ladies and Gentlemen) to ensure families are transitioned smoothly and needs are met.
- Update a standardized and coordinate notification process for Association, Foundation, Falcon Foundation, various USAFA staff, classmates and others as appropriate.
- Update and maintain the Gone, But Not Forgotten (GBNF) webpage, ensuring information compilation, tribute information and coordination with MARCOMM for Checkpoints/Annual GBNF publication.
- Work with Academy Ladies and Gentlemen (ALAG) to coordinate representation at burials located on USAFA.
- Facilitate In Memoriam Donations from Class Agency Funds for the deceased, and prepare related correspondence as needed.
- Create and maintain memorial support guide for families of recommendations of services in and around the Air Force Academy.
- Create and maintain helpful resource guides/materials to make the process smoother for families, whether in a pre-planning phase or later.
- Collaborate with Membership team to ensure membership benefits are updated and continued (for surviving spouse)
- Support the Reunion team with Class Memorial Brochures and Ceremonies (Fall) and coordinate support with NOK of reunion classes, ensuring visit support.
- Support the Events team with Next of Kin Day activities (August)
- Keep abreast of Air Force and USAFA and priorities, programs, personalities, and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- First-hand knowledge or connection to the Air Force Academy is preferred.
- Working knowledge of webpage management is preferred.
- Working knowledge with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM database is preferred.
- Working knowledge Microsoft Office 365 program suite is required.
- A valid driver’s license and any related insurances is required.
- Be able to pass a DBIDS Background check, which is required in order to maintain access to the Association of Graduates principal offices on the Academy.
- Individuals with service in the military, especially the U.S. Air Force, will be given strong consideration.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The hourly range for this position is $23.08-$24.04 ($48,000-$50,000 annual estimate). The Foundation offers a competitive benefits package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement and paid time off for all full-time employees.
