What You Will Do
These positions are to be filled at either the Technical Project Manager 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidates. Additional job responsibilities (as outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The Operations Integration Center (OIC) Group Office is currently seeking motivated candidates to fill multiple Operations Window Manager (OWM) positions, in support of OIC's mission to integrate and coordinate activities across product lines and services. These roles are critical in determining production priorities and driving the efficient utilization of resources.
Technical Project Manager 1 ($81,700 - $133,100)
The TPM-1 position is for an entry-level Operations Window Manager (OWM). The selected candidate's "walk-in" scheduled work from scoping through completion, meeting required milestones along the way.
Ensure project objectives meet scope requirements and are safely fulfilled.
Conduct readiness assessments of schedules.
Maintain and regularly report project status.
Aid in communication and coordination of schedule activities.
Provide direct support to TPM-2 Operations Window Managers.
Technical Project Manager 2 ($99,200 - $164,100)
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level the TPM-2 is an advanced-level Operations Window Manager (OWM). In addition to the responsibilities outlined at the lower level, the selected candidates will possess extensive experience, and function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in driving production execution.
Assume responsibility and accountability for project success from cradle to grave.
Evaluate risks and "lock-in" T-week execution schedules.
Drive weekly and daily planning meetings with the appropriate stakeholders.
Manage schedule misses and emergent work plans.
Report program status and metrics to upper-level management on a regular basis.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Technical Experience: Production facility experience supporting scheduling or production activities. Familiar with process development and manufacturing operations.
Communication Skills: Possess professional oral and written communications skills as well as applying team-building concepts.
Knowledge and Skills: Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project software knowledge. Solid MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) experience. Possess analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
Additional Job Requirements for Technical Project Manager 2:
In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:
Technical Experience: Extensive experience in the scheduling and management of production activities. Strong proficiency in process development and change management.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills. Possess highly effective communication and collaboration skills, both orally and in writing, across all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to work and influence cross-functional teams.
Knowledge and Skills: Advanced abilities and/or training in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project software. Significant background in manufacturing and resource management.
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. A Project Management Institute certification is preferred for this level.
Desired Qualifications:
Expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6 software.
Experience reporting to and communicating with multiple supervisory organizations.
Active DOE Q Clearance and active participant in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
- Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
