Position Summary
Supports the daily requirements of the school; ensures computer labs for Computer Information Systems (CIS) classes are operational; provides assistance to students, faculty and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the operation of assigned laboratories to ensure a safe, orderly, neat, clean and secure working environment.
Receives and inventories; order, receive, catalog, and store tools, and equipment in accordance with established procedures
Provide assistance in the participation and distribution of materials for instructors, which include setting up demonstrations, preparing materials and equipment for lectures, creating handouts.
Assist students in the safe use of equipment, materials and vehicles as required.
Provides support and resolves problems related to lab equipment, computer and related software.
Assists instructors in evaluations and laboratory exercise; conducts tours of lab; and coordinates fire and safety regulation compliance as needed.
Hire, supervise and schedule work/study students
Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
Maintains proper safety and sanitation procedures and standards in labs which includes OSHA and HACCP; and provides for safe, clean and secure labs, which includes sanitation, cleaning and safeguarding equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED, and one (1) year of related work experience in the related area.
Preferences:
Computer programming experience in Python or C++ or Bash
CompTIA or other industry related certifications
Recent graduate of CNM Computer Information Systems Certificate or AAS program or similar program from another institution.
