Job Description
Senior Human Resource Generalist/Manager:
Industry: Healthcare (under 300 employees)
Corporate Location: Homewood, Alabama
This position reports to the Executive Director of a Healthcare Company and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations and activities of the Human Resources department.
The ideal candidate will have a great Generalist background and seek to lead a small department of their own successfully.
General Responsibilities:
1. Assists healthcare facilities maintain staffing levels and recommends various recruiting sources.
2. Monitors compensation trends and interacts with corporate resources to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
3. Recommends various sources and builds a referral base to recruit and retain the talent necessary to successfully operate the business.
4. Prepares various HR reports and ensures personnel files are maintained in accordance with employee confidentiality.
5. Assists in communicating benefits information by answering employee questions and establishing liaison with the company’s carriers.
6. Coordinates, implements and maintains an effective organizational development program as well as completing all employee orientations.
7. Manages Workers Compensation program.
8. Assists in the training and periodic updates of OSHA and safety standards.
9. Oversees all payroll information and changes for employees to send to Payroll Department.
10. Oversees administration of benefits programs including updating insurance rosters, 401(K) plans, COBRA, etc.
11. Assists with leave administration and unemployment.
12. Leads employee relations processes with a strong focus and action on positive ER. Counsels/coaches managers and employees, assists managers with performance reviews, discipline, and terminations to ensure consistent and lawful outcomes.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree.
Minimum of five (5) years in HR Administration, preferably in a health care environment.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals across all organizational levels.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of applicable State and Federal Labor Laws.
· Excellent ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
