What will you be doing?
A Dump Truck Driver is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs on construction projects any combination of the duties described below.
Key Duties
- Valid Class "B" CDL with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations.
- Drives dump truck to transport materials to and from construction projects.
- Knowledge with chaining and binding of equipment being transported (DOT).
- Checks routine maintenance items on assigned vehicle such as oil, tire pressure, windshield washer fluids, power steering fluids, and gas as per required preventative maintenance guidance.
- Responsible for notifying supervisor if vehicle needs to be repaired.
- Ability to operate and load equipment efficiently.
- Drive tri-axle truck and trailer.
- Demonstrates safety 1st and speaks up when see unsafe act.
- Identifies and turns in near miss reports.
- Driver/Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
- Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts.
- Prepares and processes all necessary paperwork and dispatches.
- Ensures accountability, completes log books, maintenance records, reports and other transportation documents for accurate accounting.
The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending as well as periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds.
