Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Pretreatment Plant is an anaerobic membrane wastewater system. The Pretreatment Plant Supervisor is responsible for operating the Wastewater Pretreatment Plant within all regulatory requirements. This role will also assist EHS with environmental and safety compliance including, but not limited to, the completion of routine environmental reporting, storm water monitoring, and chemical spill response.
Essential Functions

1. Assist in the skills development of the technicians through identification, development, and deliverance of necessary training in the proper use of safe and appropriate work methods.
2. Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance system to track work completion and develop future work plans.
3. Assure technics team members have the necessary equipment and supplies to perform required services.
4. Ensure compliance with any state or federal regulations or laws related to environment protection, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemical substances and materials.
5. Ability to interact effectively with third party and internal auditors, as well as regulatory inspectors
6. Enforce plant/departmental rules and policies regarding employee conduct by advising and counseling employees whenever they are not in compliance.
7. Utilize proven reliability methodology and failure analysis for managing ongoing reliability and improvement of equipment, processes and supporting equipment.
8. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
9. Recruit as needed for WW technician to support for all production shifts
10. Manage micro nutrient, macro nutrient, magnesium hydroxide inventory levels
11. Oversee 3rd party laboratory testing
12. Maintain data recording and trends for internal / external resources and regulatory agencies
13. Manage ongoing training so that at least 2 technicians are Industrial Waste Water certified
14. Propose continuous improvement projects to maintenance & engineering
15. Track, monitor, communicate status of PM and work order completion to maintenance and engineering
16. Maintain a minimum certification of Industrial Waste Water Operator
17. Manage technician schedules to provide WW plant support and coverages as necessary
18. Manage Waste Water plant budget.
19. Ensure and maintain safe practices within waste water plant
20. Working knowledge of federal and state environmental and safety regulations
21. Ensure pretreatment plant operations follow all discharge parameters

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days can vary depending on production schedule. This is a shift schedule position.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of management experience.
3. Proficient with Microsoft products.
4. Ability to work within and encourage a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Certified Waste Water Operator
2. Proficient in SAP
3. Technical Writer
4. Proficient in analytical laboratory testing
