Gee Automotive Companies, one of the nation’s fastest-growing automotive groups, is seeking a Manager of Corporate Development and Real Estate. The Manager of Corporate Development and Real Estate role is part of our corporate holding company team and will work out of our Portland Oregon corporate office. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, this position will wear many hats, including real estate development, real estate transaction management, new business acquisition evaluation, due diligence and integration management.
This is a high-visibility individual contributor role in which you will collaborate internally with our executive leadership, general managers and functional teams (finance & accounting, facilities, manufacturer relations, marketing), as well as externally with landlords, brokers, environmental consultants, business sellers, lenders and legal counsel.
You will be responsible for supporting the growth of our company in the automotive sector as well as new retail segments by:
Support our expansion into new markets by executing M&A opportunities.
- Research, analyze and present findings on new markets.
- Lead acquisition target evaluation – build financial model, develop valuation, assess strategic merits and considerations.
- Manage due diligence process.
- Drive deal process and collaborate closely with internal team and external parties.
- Support the launch of new locations and manage integration of acquired targets.
Managing our existing real estate portfolio and driving the growth of that portfolio by purchasing and leasing new properties.
- Perform and manage all facets of due diligence for new real estate purchase and lease opportunities – environmental, surveys, zoning, physical inspection, condition of title, and any other considerations related to location/facility feasibility.
- Review, negotiate and draft language for LOIs and purchase agreements for real estate purchases.
- Review and help negotiate new leases and lease renewals.
- Support diligence and documentation process of lenders and financing partners.
- Work with internal business partners to identify, analyze and present business case justification for new real estate opportunities.
- Track real estate market data to support the negotiation process and decision-making.
- Manage real estate transaction timelines and workstreams alongside internal and external partners.
Your Background and Skills:
- A “Swiss Army Knife” type person who thrives in a broad array of situations and has the energy and aptitude to grow and evolve along with our company
- 3-5 years of progressive work experience in transactional commercial Real Estate and corporate development/M&A
- Experience in investment banking, consulting or similar fields very helpful
- Automotive/Retail Industry background a plus, but not required
- Understanding of real estate concepts and principles
- Understanding of debt financing instruments
- Experience reviewing and interpreting legal documentation
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, finance, accounting or related study required; MBA or MRED a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently
- Exceptional ability to gather, analyze and present findings in executive-level reports
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

Pay: $120,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
