About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Manager will support the people operations of Smith.ai and its growing network of frontline teammates. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the business leaders who support our hourly receptionist teams, providing guidance, coaching, and HR strategies to help drive our mission forward. The HR Manager will champion diversity, inclusiveness, and belonging in the workplace, helping all teammates and managers reach their full potential.
The HR Manager will leverage their expertise in local, state and federal employment law, employee relations, and performance management to lead with empathy while balancing the needs of the business. The ideal candidate should bring a passion for compliance, process, and policy to help our teams build for scale.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Identify and implement forward-thinking hourly HR solutions based on an understanding of Smith.ai business operations and the external legal environment
Provide day-to-day employee relations and performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, and HR policies)
Oversee execution of key talent management processes for our hourly teams: resource planning, promotions, change management, organizational design and development
Act as relationship manager and main point of contact for the Employer of Record, serving as the bridge between the EOR and our teammates
Ensure compliance with all employment laws in multiple markets. Research legal trends and compliance considerations in new US and international market
Lead with a strong command of data, analyzing trends and metrics to optimize our people initiatives
Collaborate with other HR team members, manage projects, and provide direction on HR-related programs and practices
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor's degree preferred; progressive experience in a HR Generalist, HR Manager or HRBP capacity required. Prior experience supporting a high-volume, hourly population strongly preferred
PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification(s) preferred
Demonstrated skills in the following: employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational strategy, and learning and development
In-depth knowledge of hourly employment law required, specifically as it relates to the workforce: interviewing, hiring, performance management, wage and pay.
Experience supporting a remote workforce; international experience is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional management abilities; ability to demonstrate strong business judgment and handle highly confidential information
Demonstrated success in managing complex HR projects, stakeholders and deliverables
Self-aware and open to feedback; able to communicate with and influence all levels of the organization
Proficiency with Google Apps and Slack preferred

This is a full-time position with a base salary that ranges between $75,000 - $100,000 per year. In addition to salary, you are eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and PTO.
