Job Description
Position Title: General Manager of Transportation Operations
Location: HOUSTON, TX or MIDLAND, TX
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: VP of Transporation
Job Overview: The General Manager of Transportation Operations will be responsible for overseeing all transportation-related activities for our company, including the safe and timely transport of hazardous materials, the maintenance of all transportation equipment, and the management of all transportation personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures that adhere to all relevant regulations and ensure the safe transport of all equipment.
- Ensure all transportation equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and management of all transportation personnel.
- Work closely with other departments, including safety and compliance, to ensure that all transportation-related activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Manage transportation budgets and make strategic decisions to optimize resources and reduce costs.
- Ensure all transportation-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation-related inquiries and concerns from customers and stakeholders.
- Manage several Regions across the United States.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation management, with a proven track record of success
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsements
- Clean driving record and background check
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Deep understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work remotely outdoors, in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
