Job Description
Overview:
The Helpdesk / Data Entry Operator is responsible for keying and balancing all batches from different departments, printing and distributing reports to the proper personnel and performing other tasks as required. Responsible for answering IT Helpdesk phone calls and by providing basic troubleshooting for computer problems covered in training; directing callers to online knowledge base, and other resources, for additional support when applicable.
Responsibilities:
Always handles telephone information requests with courtesy, accuracy and respect for caller; receives information and distributes as necessary.
Assists callers in creating helpdesk accounts, resetting passwords, submitting tickets.
Submits, reviews, updates, and closes tickets for callers as needed.
Ensures that all batch headers are correctly completed, entered and initialed upon completion.
Always contacts appropriate departments to obtain any missing information in a courteous manner.
Always maintains personal work area in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.
Always ensures that the charges are keyed, completed, and transmitted daily.
Maintains an error rate of less than 1% of work entered.
Always gives accurate attention to detail.
Always ensures print is clear, paper correctly lined up and correct number of copies printed when operating the printer.
Continually develops the ability to operate different types of equipment such as printers, personal computers, and fax.
Always ensures adequate inventory of supply are available in area.
Always follows priorities for entering work as outlined by department policy.
Maintains progress on work assigned. Avoids period of high activity and very low activity.
Always demonstrates the ability to assess a situation from a variety of perspectives, consider several alternatives, and choose the most appropriate course of action.
Seek guidance and direction, as necessary, for successful completion of job duties; asks appropriate questions when in doubt.
Always respects the confidentiality of patient and employee payroll information in performing job duties.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
High school graduate with 10 key by touch. Ability to work quickly and accurately for high volume of data entry. Hospital background preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word and Excel spreadsheets
EXPERIENCE:
1+ years of administrative support experience (preferred)
Experience working with clinical hospital systems (preferred)
