Maintenance Manager at a glance
The Maintenance Manager will direct all reliability and maintenance activities to ensure that maximum operational potential is realized for the entire plant operation. This includes all functions in the areas of Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), Maintenance Recruit to Retire, Manufacturing Process Reliability and Equipment Reliability, e.g. departmental budgets, computerized maintenance management systems, preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance programs. This position is also responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of maintenance related capital budget items in concert with engineering.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
- Prepare departmental costs and variances with regard to productivity- short and long-range planning- labor scheduling- product scheduling- raw materials- packaging supplies- product weights- sanitation and housekeeping.
- Work with Product Supply Group in weekly scheduling of the Packaging and Processing Area to optimize productivity.
- Ensure strong- effective communication across functions and with employees- vendors and government regulators.
- Work with Product Development- Suppliers- Engineering- Quality- and Factory Employees in finding innovative ways to improve the Quality and productivity of our Products.
- Implement safety measures for accident prevention through monthly departmental safety meetings and working with salaried Supervisors to ensure hourly employee compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in a progressive leadership role including the ability to motivate- empower- train- direct- lead- evaluate and coach a diverse group of team members to reach their fullest potential
- Experience in maintenance manufacturing operations including extensive knowledge in the following areas: Packaging/Mechanical Operations- Electrical maintenance- Instrumentation- Electronics/Controls- and Utility Systems- as well as boiler and ammonia refrigeration
- Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment.
- Ability to traverse my work environment, sustained up to 1/3 of my working hours.
- Ability to perform sedentary work: occasionally exerting 0-10 lbs. of force, limited movement from my workstation for brief periods of time.
