Full Job Description
Magnolia Primary Care LLC is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant. We are looking for a dependable employee, with good work ethics who can function well as a collaborative member of the team. Duties of a Medical Assistant
- Exam Room Preparation including sanitization after each patient visit.
- Checking patient vitals and getting patients situated in a room.
- Opening encounters and necessary chart documentation.
- Assisting the provider with simple procedures including performing PAP smears, wep prep etc.
- Responding to patient telephone messages and call backs in a timely manner.
- Collecting specimens, performing and interpreting basic lab work /tests– Strep test, Flu test, COVID test, Urinalysis, Finger stick, urine pregnancy test, blood sugar, EKG, hemoglobin A1C
- Performing prior authorizations, referral requests, printing lab orders, setting up appointments for imaging and keeping track of all orders initiated.
- Giving intramuscular and subcutaneous injections including vaccinations and therapeutic medications.
- Quality control of in house tests with appropriate and timely documentation of the same.
- Biweekly inventory of back office supplies.
- Experience with phlebotomy is required.
- Based on necessity, is required to be willing to learn and perform front office duties as well including Patient Registration, insurance verification, Appointment Scheduling, Patient Check-In, Check- Out, Collecting payments from patients and posting onto computerized system (co-payments, deductible etc.), Processing and filing incoming medical documents, sending medical records requests.
- Insurance related quality improvement tasks
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education (GED)
- Graduation from accredited medical assistant program is preferred
- Experience in a relevant health care setting is preferred – experience will affect hourly pay.
Skills required:
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills to help serve patients with the goal of upholding the company motto to provide compassionate, high quality, personalized care.
- Use of computers with preferable training in Athena software
- Use of telephone, fax machine, copier, scanner, calculator, insurance and driver’s license card scanner, DYMO label printer.
- Use of EKG machine, pulse oximeter, wheelchairs, scales, glucose monitor, blood pressure machine.
Schedule and hours (32 hours/week)
- Monday: 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM
- Tuesday: 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM
- Wednesday: 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM
- Thursday: 7:15 AM – 4: 15 PM
- Friday: 7: 15 AM – 4: 15 PM
- With one hour break for lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
