What You'll Do:
As a Tax Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting out tax department and will be given the opportunity to contribute to both our audit and litigation departments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of individual, small business, and corporate tax returns. This involves gathering financial data, analyzing tax implications, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Entering financial information into tax software and reconciling bank statements, investment accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting senior accountants with tax planning efforts for clients, identifying potential tax-saving opportunities, and recommending strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
- Organizing and maintaining financial records, including receipts, invoices, and other relevant documents for tax filing and auditing purposes.
- Assisting in audits and reviews by providing necessary financial data and supporting documentation.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues that arise during the tax preparation process.
- Being an active and valuable member of the tax accounting team, contributing to team success and helping achieve overall firm objectives.
What We're Looking For:
To excel in this role, we require someone who meets the following criteria:
- While prior experience with a CPA firm is preferred (1-2 years), we value potential and talent. Fresh graduates with a passion for accounting are encouraged to apply!
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications and Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite software (preferred, but not required).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective time management is essential to handle tax season demands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and superiors professionally and effectively.
- Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a team-oriented work environment. Ability to work well with others and take direction from senior accountants or managers.
