Overview
The core responsibilities of the Wrap Operations Program Support Engineer is to support the Western Resource Adequacy Program, the Working Group (s) developed through the Participant Process, the design and development of the program leading up to Go-Live and then continued support of the program, assisting in interoperability discussions between the multiple initiatives moving out to/in the West, support of the development team as development continues, work with development team on future enhancements (this includes testing as needed and scenario building), education development/training materials, working through issues with the program, backup for coordinators, help develop program metrics and analyses, working with developers for possible future uncertainty automation from actual data, etc. and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Provide engineering support and analysis for all assigned Coordinated Operations related functions
Co-lead or lead special projects based upon experience and qualifications
Assist the Supervisor, WRAP Operations or more senior engineers with any special project
Be active on any assigned SPP, WECC, WRAP or NERC committees, working groups, or task forces
Possess minimum knowledge in necessary modeling techniques
Be able to independently request and collect information, prepare and validate data for operational assessments of the WRAP.
Make recommendations to management on long-range coordinated operations goals and objectives
Participate in the development, maintenance, and support of Operations related applications and processes
Developing expertise or proficiency in one or more areas as a subject matter expert

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, this degree should:
Be from a university that meets the requirements to sit for the Professional Engineering exam (in Arkansas, that is most typically a degree from an ABET accredited university or a graduate degree from a college that has an ABET accreditation),
Degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field and preferred degree programs are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
Experience Requirements:
Engineer I - No experience necessary
Engineer II - 2+ years of relevant Engineering experience
Required:
Be practiced in understanding of and compliance with NERC and FERC standards and/or policies
Be practiced in understanding system operations and/or planning principles and studies
Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
Focus on continuous improvement, efficiency and collaboration and holds to the SPP Core Values
Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
Preferred:
Experience in electric utility industry
Emphasis on power system analysis and electric utility operations
Advanced degree in a related field of study
