Job Description
An automotive company is actively seeking a new Marketing Manager for a busy operation in San Luis Obispo. The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating the ‘face’ and ‘voice’ of our brand. The ideal candidate is a motorsports enthusiast with an eye for unique and creative content, has the knowledge of reaching out to a broad customer base, and the ability to collaborate with vendors to maximize our marketing effectiveness.
The primary function of this position is to create awareness and promote the brand position of the company’s customer base. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Marketing Assistant to create and develop marketing programs, promotions, training events, and various media vehicles to expand the current market and analyze new markets.
Responsibilities:
- Support the marketing of products through available channels of communication to both wholesale and retail customers, delivering meaningful and measurable growth.
- Marketing activities include the creation and participation in ad programs, linkage to retail advertising, electronic communication, website/social media content and maintenance, target marketing, photography, and video productions of products.
- Provide necessary analysis on industry directions, dealer/customer requirements with regard to products, and campaign effectiveness. Make recommendations for product expansions or deletions based upon analysis within the market.
- Create and support parts information reference materials/database.
- Participation in strategic marketing planning for the growth of parts sales through the dealer organization.
- Develop programs and promotions to stimulate customer/dealer interest in the brand.
- Attend trade shows and other marketing opportunities to further the growth of the business; prioritize attendance at such shows by reach potential and ROI.
- Strategize with the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop marketing programs, technical writing needs, and sales initiatives.
- Coordinate and conduct various media productions.
- Analyze SEO tactics and make suggestions to increase SEO efforts, measuring various marketing strategies for performance.
- Create a brand identity based on input from management team, recommending corrective actions to achieve corporate goals.
- Produce content for catalog images, videos, and graphics for easy accessibility and use.
- Create and manage ad campaigns for use across a variety of social media platforms, email, and websites.
- Work with sales team to create and promote unique or competitive product bundles.
- Shoot still photos and videos of products for various uses and in a variety of environments; edit them to a high degree of professionalism and creativity.
- Design of high-quality graphics for print, digital, and trade show materials.
- Supervise Marketing Assistant, ensuring content posted is accurate, effective, and optimized.
- Organize and catalog assets for interdepartmental use.
Requirements:
- College degree or some college coursework in Marketing or Communications or combined education/work experience.
- 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Experience with lifestyle marketing, digital media, sponsorships, audience segmentation, and event marketing.
- 1-3 years of managerial experience.
- Technical aptitude with all or most of the following programs: Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Social Media Platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), Google Analytics, and MailChimp.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to organize a vast amount of material for successful implementation of time critical programs.
- Candidate should have a marketing, auto parts and/or sales background with strong analytical abilities.
- Track record of designing marketing activities across diverse engagement channels.
- Excellent communication, spelling, and grammar skills.
- Be able to successfully execute projects within short time frames.
- Be able to work within a matrix environment to successfully represent a diverse line of products.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of dealers, customers, and company employees is critical.
