Job Description
Overview:
Princeton University’s Office on Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a highly motivated and technical Platform Administrator to work as a member of the Package Adoption and Configuration team (PAC). The PAC team is responsible for supporting the assessment, implementation, integration and maintenance of business applications and platforms in use by University departments and offices. Through their work, the team assists departments and the University in leveraging the functionality provided by these systems in the most efficient and secure manner.
In this position, the Platform Administrator is responsible for supporting the new Faculty Information System, Interfolio, implementation and maintenance. This position will work closely with other OIT staff, functional teams and vendors to provide technical support for this new central application.
This position provides a variety of IT services including: technical analysis, configuration, implementation and maintenance. A strong understanding of hosted applications, databases and integrations is needed. Responsibilities include analysis of architecture design, configuring user permissions, setting up technical configurations, branding and accessibility as well as investigating new product functionality.
This position will also work on reviewing and applying vendor patches, maintaining a change management process, creating integration test scripts, coordinating backups and restores and providing production support.
Additionally, this position must maintain effective communication and project planning across technical and functional teams and other business systems.
Responsibilities:
Configure the application to meet business needs and University policies.
Configure and maintain platform security and permissions.
Set up and maintain integrations between other systems
Ability to create good quality reports for business needs
Perform system upgrade and coordinate user testing
Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with the Faculty Information System to include application, integration, and data issues
Create and maintain required documentation for policy procedure and root cause analysis for any reported issues
Serve as technical subject matter expert for the Faculty Information System
Serve as primary technical liaison with application vendors', technical resources and other technology partners as necessary
Serve as primary contact with all departments that will use the Faculty Information System
Maintain the service in ServiceNow including but not limited to knowledge base articles, responding to incidents, attending post implementation reviews
Staying abreast of product roadmaps
Work with the vendors’ ticketing system to report issues and questions we might have
Advocate on behalf of the university and its business office on product development and security
Ensure that accessibility requirements are met
Disseminate information to user community relating to both service impact and new feature functionality
Coordinate activities relating to the Faculty Information System and the user community
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications -
Minimum of 3+ years of experience implementing and maintaining SaaS applications, databases, and integrations
Demonstrated experience in applying software updates and coordinating application testing
Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and processes and translate them into application and operational requirements
Proven ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally with staff at all levels of the organization
Ability to build strong relationships with technical colleagues and campus customers with varying levels of technical understanding
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines
Ability to understand both the functional and technical sides of the application
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Understand data and security governance
Experience writing, querying data and troubleshooting problems using SQL
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications -
Experience working in The Office of the Dean of the Faculty
Security Administration
Experience working in higher education supporting campus constituents
