Job Description
OVERVIEW
This position provides support to the Federal Aviation Administration at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in the Terminal Second Level Engineering (TSLE) group. As a member of the TSLE Software team, this position will maintain, design, build, and field test radar equipment on real systems in the most exciting and challenging environment. This is a mission-driven company that places customer needs front and center. As a result, some days will feature heavy development in the lab, and other days will be on the phone doing customer service correcting on-site issues. Having an innovative mindset with an excitement for diving deep into the complexities of real-world radar is critical to the success of any candidate.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Candidate will be responsible for performing customer service, design and development engineering assignments related to software/hardware products and systems which includes the development of new products and/or updates to existing products. Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain. Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Supports the development and delivery of program information including the Software Breakdown Structure. Coordinates with other systems engineering, and procurement disciplines for the planning and delivery of program equipment to the field. Supporting tasks involving performing system fault analysis, life cycle maintenance and integrated logistics support for program systems. Provides status on assigned schedules and supports Engineering Change Request (ECR) efforts as required. Must have the ability to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines.
JOB DUTIES
- Along with Software engineering, and customer service, develop Platform level architectures and design requirements, schedules, and cost targets
- Develop the necessary engineering documentation to support the designs
- Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment
- Support software engineering to integrate the software and firmware into products
- Coordinates with engineering firms in developing design criteria for products
- Estimates costs for equipment, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
- Coordinates with customers, engineers, managers, etc. to define scopes of work, changes
- Works with others (in-house personnel, vendors) to specify and order needed materials
- Maintains frequent communication with supervisor regarding job/project work and cost status
- Resolves job changes and delays to provide alternate solutions to maintain schedules for jobs/projects
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated strength with system level debug and determining root cause of technical issues
- Strong understanding of Linux, Unix, and Windows
- Demonstrated strength in computer programming design & architecture,
- Demonstrated strength with lab equipment including, but not limited to: DMM, oscilloscopes
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or another related Technical Degree with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics. There is no minimum number of relevant years of experience.
JOB LOCATION
This is a hybrid remote position splitting time between remote and onsite work at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This position is subject to change to fully onsite at the direction of the Federal Government. Candidate should have reliable transportation to commute to work as needed.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
