Overview:
Cannabis & Glass is looking for a corporate bookkeeper to provide administrative and accounting support for the finance department.
Job operations will vary from day to day but will have a base routine including bookkeeping, record keeping, record maintenance, as well as various account payable tasks and items that can arise from that. The bookkeeper will also be responsible for coordinating and ensuring proper billing and invoice practices are being maintained by our various utilities and lessors.
The job will not only include work done with Cannabis & Glass, but with other organizations Cannabis & Glass does bookkeeping and record keeping for. Other tasks that can arise at the discretion of the finance director or accounting manager will be expected to be followed through with professionalism.
Essential Functions:
Take responsibility for accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, utilities, employee incentive transactions, account statement reconciliations and check runs.
Accounts Payable Administration
Responsibilities include preparing checks for print runs (verifying invoice, allocating expense, ensuring vendor information is correct)
Preparing checks for authorization by Director
Non-vendor to start
Will be expected to take over all payments in time
Cash receipts reconciliation
Periodically (weekly)
Uploaded cash receipts are cataloged in quickbooks and recorded as expenses in the accounting system for traceability
This is to be reconciled against cash counts reported by MODs
Utilities
Ensuring utilities are properly applied to the landlords responsibility where applicable and notifying director of needed payments
Review charges systematically to identify anomalies
General Ledger
Light transaction allocation work when combing through bank feeds
Depreciation and amortization reporting
COGS and inventory journal entries
In general, other LLC bookkeeping will require a similar light transaction allocation work but a bit more in depth work related to ensuring completeness and accuracy
Adherence to US GAAP standards and principles
Encourage other employees to adhere to company standards and ethics
Record Keeping:
Bookkeeper will be expected to understand and assist in product intake through manifest acceptance to help when intake is high or if other team members cannot fulfill function
Ensure proper documentation protocols are upheld and followed through
Properly catalog and store documentation to be easily accessible/retrievable when required
Build out and properly maintain guidance documentation and ensure procedures are properly aligned with reality
Record Maintenance:
Managing Budtender/Manager Incentive Points
Running report to reconcile Incentive User spends vs Points Used
Administrating point awards when required
Auditing Employee Incentive Points
Being sure points applied in the form is recognized appropriately
Notifying employees when changes are made due to the results of reviews
Work with Accounting Manager to ensure proper reconciliation of accounts occurs in a timely manner following a prescribed procedure and assist in monthly closing process
Product feedback summarization
Working Conditions:
Job duties will primarily include work indoors during all seasons
Employees may be exposed to difficult or stressful vendor and/or customer situations requiring patience and professionalism to effectively handle
Work duties may require sedentary activities, active standing, stooping and/or kneeling
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to sit and/or stand at workstation for up to eight hours per day
Must be able to proficiently operate computers, tablets and other productivity machinery and technology
Must be able to reliably arrive at work on time for scheduled shifts
Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute
Must be able to move about the corporate offices, as needed, to perform required functions
Must be able to remain in a designated work area for up to eight hours per day with the exception of breaks as required by law
Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas so customers, vendors and coworkers will understand. Must be able to convey and exchange accurate information in these situations.
Must be able to continue to assist vendors and coworkers during and after stressful situations
Must be able to accurately observe details at close range in order to recognize, identify, detect, determine and assess objects
Must be able to effectively communicate information displayed on digital screens
Must be able to perform other job duties as assigned
Must have the ability to work onsite at corporate Spokane Valley location
Must have the ability to work 40 hours per week
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field preferred but not required (Recent graduates are welcome to apply!)
Previous bookkeeping experience is preferred
Minimum of 21 years of age
Must have a GED or high school diploma
Must commit to coming to work sober. We love cannabis but we do not get high on the job.
Excellent communication and organizational aptitude
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Must be comfortable discussing medical and recreational cannabis
This is an on site position. All candidates must be local to the greater Spokane area.
