Job Description
Maintains the necessary inventory levels of manufacturing supplies and tools to support production needs and maintenance operations. Ensures all tools required for production meet the organization's quality standards and calibration specifications. Supervises technicians and associated staff. University degree and 1 year suggested minimum experience, or 2 year degree and 6 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Creates requisitions based on inventory levels and specific purchase requests. Reviews them to confirm need, conformity to company policy and/or plant practice and completeness of identification or description.
Obtains competitive quotations of price and delivery on products meeting defined requirements and places an order for company needs are best served.
Contacts vendors to obtain information pertaining to product, service, price and ability of vendor to meet requirements of delivery date and quantity.
Informs suppliers and /or contractors of unsatisfactory or substandard quality of performance and arranges for appropriate corrective action to be taken.
Follows-up and expedites delivery of purchased commodities in orderly and current condition. This will include cost, product and vendor information.
Transmits receiving information to accounts payable to insure prompt payment of invoices and when appropriate, approves invoices for payment based on records of compliance to purchase by vendor.
Supervises stock base to insure proper stock levels are maintained, Determines delivery availability and discounting available so as to optimize order points and quantities of material stores.
Supervises tool crib to insure proper stock levels are maintained to meet manufacturing’s requirements.
Performs other duties relating to procurement and stores as may be directed by supervisor.
Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements
Performs other duties as assigned.
