Whitefish Mountain Resort / Winter Sports Inc.
Title: Marketing Content Specialist
Department: Marketing & Sales
Level: Full Time Regular
FLSA: Exempt

Job Summary: Producing and managing photo and video content, and organizing shoots, shot by both internal and external photographers and videographers as well as maintaining relationships with photographers, videographers, and models. Additionally, the placement of media and advertising creative in line with the strategic direction provided by the Director of Marketing and Sales is an integral part of this position. Working with all resort departments to gather accurate and timely content for all promotional materials will be the responsibility of this position. Manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc) on behalf of the company. As with most employees of this resort, additional duties not directly pertaining to this job description will be asked and expected of this individual from time to time. The Whitefish Mountain Resort’s Marketing/Sales department is responsible for providing support and tools for growing and retaining winter and summer business for Whitefish Mountain Resort. The Marketing department is housed in the administrative office area on the 2nd floor of the Hibernation House. This office space is accessed via stairway.

Interrelationships: All levels of employees, primarily marketing and sales employees as well as Supervisors, Managers and Directors across all departments
Job Specifications:
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on Marketing, Communications or Business Management preferred.
3+ years marketing experience in Resort Environment/Guest Service field preferred.
Video production experience (shooting and editing) required.
Photography experience required.
Experience in media buying and planning required.
Strong verbal and written skills required, with impeccable attention to detail (spelling/grammar).
An innovative and positive attitude and the ability to successfully work with and manage change is a must.
Excellent communication and people skills required.
Computer skills required, specifically: Microsoft Suite including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop required, InDesign a plus), Video Editing Software (Premiere Pro), Mac OS Platform. Email service providers and survey software.
Knowledge of internet/new media.
A strong understanding of current social media trends and when to use them appropriately.
Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills required and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to work in a multifunctional role and a fast-paced environment and successfully meet multiple deadlines.
Specific Duties:
Work with marketing, sales, and public relations staff to provide direction and oversee photo and video projects.
Organize photo and video shoots.
Gather and edit photography for website, social media, editorial purposes, and internal projects.
Editing photos and videos for social media, PR, and web use.
Write and proof copy for webpages, newsletters, social media, etc.
Work with department managers to ensure all content for promotional materials, including but not limited to brochures, advertisements, press releases, newsletters, etc are gathered in a clear format and timely manner and so the needs and issues of others reasonably addressed.
Negotiate specific media purchase contracts with clear and concise description and placement conditions with any associated terms and conditions.
Develop online content, specifically as it relates to skiwhitefish.com, in conjunction with the Internet Specialist including promotional content as well as site layout, etc.
Responsible for keeping external ski, tourism, and event websites are up to date with resort information.
Assist Public Relations Manager with media and video projects as needed.
Work closely with Group Sales Department to ensure sales material needs for the resort are being met.
Follows current WSI policies with regard to recommending approval of contracts and agreements.
Assists in maintaining good employee relations through use of internal communications plans, attendance at periodic staff meetings and one-on-one communications.
Work with Sales Manager to ensure specials and promotions are marketed correctly and reported on.
Monitoring and tracking paid ads and paid social results through the year, with an ability to identify and capitalize on trends.
Safety & Wellness:
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity.
Work Environment:
Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Able to be seated at a desk and computer workstation for extended periods of times daily.
Ability to stand for hours at a time.
Ability to walk, tour and inspect properties / grounds around village area as needed.
Requires ability to access the various village resort facilities and experience the resort snow sports activities on a regular basis.
Must be a strong, expert skier or snowboarder.
Job may require working weekends, holidays, and evenings during peak demand times.
