Job Summary:
As the National Team Principal Systems Engineer supporting the National Team-Engineering (NT-E) program’s Integrated Discrimination Team (IDT), you will conduct analysis on ballistic missile defense radar systems for a variety of studies supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). As part of this analysis, selected engineers will develop, maintain, and execute modeling and simulation (M&S) Matlab software. The selected engineer will coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the NT-E program and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.

You will also be part of a larger Raytheon team within the Systems Engineering Directorate, which is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Systems Engineering is responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).
This position works on-site at the Boeing Jetplex in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Conduct analysis, updates models, document findings, and brief analysis to IDT leadership or MDA customer in one or more of the following areas: mission definition, threat space, pulse scheduling, algorithm development, tracking, discrimination, signal processing, electronic protection, electronic warfare, environmental models / algorithms.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and eight (8)+ years of relevant experience as indicated below: (an advanced degree may satisfy up to 3 years of work experience)
Documented Engineering experience in one or more of the following MDS domains;
C2 Battle Management
Sensor simulation development
Directed sensor tasking
Multi-phenomenology processing
Kill Vehicles
An active and in-scope Secret US Security Clearance
US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, Aerospace
Analysis experience with Missile Defense Agency radar systems, including AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, SPY-1, SPY-6, UEWRs, or Cobra Dane
Experience with radar scheduling, signal processing, tracking, discrimination and/or electronic warfare is highly desired. Analysis experience with C2BMC and/or weapon systems including THAAD, Aegis Weapon Systems, and Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems
Demonstrated team leadership experience
Experience with version control software and/or object-oriented programming.
Experience in one or more of the following analysis areas: model and simulation development and analysis, sensing phenomenology (Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical / Infra-Red (EO/IR)), signal processing (including sensor design, tracking, discrimination, estimation, applied mathematics), design of experiments, Python, MATLAB, C++
