Job Summary:
The Integrated Missile Defense Sub Strategic Business Unit, Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) is seeking to hire a Project Manager located in Tucson, Arizona at Raytheon. This project manager will report to the NGI Director and is responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects, and liaises between project management and planning, Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, and program teams.
The NGI Project Manager will serve as a key driver of NGI operations and planning on various tasks including working independently on special assignments, managing the IMS and help with execution of program tasks.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Manage projects to properly address the envisioned phased approach for bridging the gap between development and production.
Assist with the day to day program execution cadence (battle rhythm) of the program, ie Critical Chain Management, risk review boards, program management reviews, failure review boards, configuration control boards, etc.
Execute and maintain Program Management Plans and Program Directives, consistent with program requirements and Missile System (MS) policies.
Collaborate with other Program Management Office personnel to ensure Top-level Master Phasing and the Integrated Master Schedules meet program strategies, objectives and milestones.
Identify and implement key program metrics. Work with the Program Management Office, IPT leads, and Functional leads to implement and drive closure of corrective actions as warranted.
Coordinate customer program reviews, prepare for customer visits.
Deploy Program Management Best Practices to include Earned Value Management
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
Prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required
Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, OR
An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience working with international customers and/or defense contractor
Project Management experience
Proficiency with Program Management tool suite or similar systems
Experience implementing and driving execution using Critical Chain
