ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Communication who’s eager to support our team members through clear, creative, and compelling communications and help build and scale communications channels to accelerate our company’s performance.
Your content will help build an internal brand engine, designed to inform, champion, attract, and keep the people we need on our team for the future. You are an effective storyteller and excellent writer with a journalistic drive and curiosity. You have a passion for multimedia cross-channel storytelling, strong attention to detail, and excellent research and relationship-building skills. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop cross-platform content strategy and maintain/drive internal communications content calendar across channels
Implement and manage new internal Waystar Newsletter, gathering content ideas, maintaining a robust editorial calendar and managing the flow of content, revisions and approvals to meet publishing deadlines
Join our cross-functional team to develop and bring communications alive through our website, internal and external social platforms, and other digital communications tools, including bringing ideas to make internal channels such as Teams more effective
Collaborate with multiple Marketing and Communications team members to help craft content strategy and drive general day-to-day operations, including partnering on a shared editorial calendar for simultaneous campaigns
Support VP Corporate Communications and external PR agencies to promote editorial pillars and highlight key messages in press releases, proactive pitches, research studies and other content designed to gain media coverage
Write and edit inspiring, clear, and concise copy, produce stories, videos, graphics to support all operational partners across the organization. Interview SMEs, leaders and team members throughout the organization and write compelling and relevant stories that highlight major business initiatives and connect the dots to Waystar’s strategic business objectives
Proactively identify and carry out opportunities for relevant, original, compelling storytelling to support Waystar’s culture and people
Partner effectively with external agencies and consultants, providing creative direction, feedback, information and assets to ensure high quality projects are delivered on time and on-budget
Partner with Content + Design to help maintain and deploy digital asset management including produced videos, b-roll, audio files, imagery, graphics, and logos
Manage Waystar Awards process, including working with outside agencies and internal subject matter experts to submit creative and compelling award entries for third-party recognition from media and organizations that will elevate brand awareness, with an emphasis on trade, healthcare, tech, top-tier business media awards for growth and innovation and select Best Places to Work awards)
Understand and evangelize our brand voice and guidelines while providing materials for internal clients and external vendors as needed
Support content for Waystar-wide events, such as the quarterly town halls, Waystar Days, and other corporate events
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field required. Experience running internal communications strategy preferred.
Demonstrated ability to create compelling content that engages, educates, and moves partners to action. Content development experience required, and samples will be requested
Experience developing and delivering communications in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
Experience with internal communications and employee engagement
Experience developing and implementing web-based content/communications
Experience managing creative agencies and working with consultants as required
Experience in graphic design, layout, and video editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, iMovie, etc . strongly preferred
Experience with presentation (PPT) development
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Limited travel to cover events, join meetings, etc. (10 - 20%)

The Marketing team at Waystar acts as the company’s brand ambassadors. From high-impact campaigns to large-scale field events, the department is responsible for telling Waystar’s story, growing brand awareness, and increasing recognition in the market. Team members combine data-driven, strategic marketing efforts with creative messaging and design to preserve brand identity and promote growth.
