About this Role
The Molding Operator Technician III plays a critical role in the Silgan Dispensing team and offers a great opportunity for individuals seeking career advancement. Our manufacturing plant produces thousands of dispensing products daily, so it is crucial to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. As a Molding Operator Technician III, you will be responsible for setting up and optimizing production runs, performing quality checks, and ensuring smooth machine operation. Here is a breakdown of the typical daily duties for a Molding Operator Technician III:
Ensure safe and efficient completion of the molding process with high-quality results
Perform complex machine set-ups, including dip tube changes and mechanical parts replacements
Conduct quality checks and audits during production runs, adhering to the quality plan
Inspect and test assembly units to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, making necessary adjustments
Maintain assembly machines through preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, cost savings, and quality enhancement
Participate in EH&S reviews to ensure compliance
Assist in continuous improvement activities such as root cause analysis and corrective actions
Accurately document quality inspection and production results
Ensure outgoing products meet required specifications
Promptly escalate safety, quality, and performance issues as necessary
Train and support colleagues within the value stream
Assist with machine disassembly
Troubleshoot issues beyond basic resets, identifying incorrect machine messages and determining appropriate corrective actions
Address electrical parts or electrical-related problems with corrective measures
Drive strategies for continuous improvement
Perform other assigned duties as required
Qualified Candidates must have:
Basic shop math and computer skills
Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues
Willingness to assist cross-functional groups as needed
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Analyze, interpret, and report data related to machine performance
High school diploma or GED preferred
Adaptability to changing business needs
