Job Description
**This position is ideal for a recent accounting graduate looking to grow and take on more responsibility over time.**
JOB SUMMARY: At the direction of the Director of Accounting, tactically executes accounting assignments and projects relating to market level activities, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and that projects are completed within specified timeframes and in accordance with AOA accounting policies and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*
Ensures accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all financial data within the position’s span of control.
Coordinates and executes certain aspects of accounts payable for the corporate accounting office.
Posts monthly recurring and adjusting journal entries on behalf of the markets.
Accumulates the weekly market cash projections, prepares the weekly consolidated cash needs report, and forwards the report to the home office for funding of the markets.
Reconciles balance sheet accounts including prepaid, operating accounts, and lockbox account.
Completes market cash account reconciliations and initiates any necessary journal entries and cash entries.
Performs other related accounting functions as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
Ensures all new employee information is accurately recorded into the AOA payroll system.
Receives, consolidates, reviews, and submits payroll files to processor.
Downloads and distributes payroll reports to the markets after processing is complete.
Any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Accounting or Corporate Controller.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Four or more years experience in accounting.
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Windows based computer programs and Microsoft Office Suite.
