Job Description
Established Midlands service company is adding 2 Entry-Level Staff Accountants to their team This is an incredible opportunity for a new graduate with their bachelors in accounting to learn from the ground up with a successful mid-size company. The accounting team is wonderful and they offer strong work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording financial transactions accurately and promptly, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
Financial Data Entry: Enter financial data into appropriate accounting software systems or spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements by comparing financial transactions with records to ensure accuracy.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide support in analyzing and interpreting financial data for management review.
Expense Tracking: Assist in tracking and categorizing expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and policies.
Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Auditing Assistance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions and records.
Data Analysis: Help with analyzing financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and procurement, to ensure accurate financial information and resolve any issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Payroll & HR software experience strongly preferred.
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) experience required.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to work under limited supervision required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
