Assistant Global Corporate Controller
US Remote

Primary Purpose
The Assistant Global Corporate Controller is responsible to the Vice President, Corporate Controller for managing compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they relate to revenue recognition for Emmes’ public sector contracts and overseeing compliance with government contracting regulations. Further, the Assistant Global Corporate Controller oversees accounting practices and internal controls as well as prepares the consolidated global financial statements. The Assistant Global Corporate Controller will support the company and the Vice President, Corporate Controller in the audit process and in managing the financial affairs of the company.
Responsibilities
Prepares and consolidates detailed financial statements for Emmes and all its global affiliates
Manages the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts monthly and initiates journal entries as needed to keep those balances current
Coordinates the intercompany reconciliations with affiliate entities
Works with and oversees offshored shared services teams
Coordinates financial and incurred cost audits with the Vice President, Corporate Controller
Works with the Vice President, Corporate Controller to ensure integration of affiliate entities and standardization of accounting policies, compliance with month-end reporting timelines, and financial statement reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Establishes, documents, and follows internal control systems to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements
Implements process improvements and automation where needed
Oversees various projects around intercompany, transfer pricing, development, and rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across accounting operations
Assists in researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
Oversees the operations of general accounting
Responsible for indirect cost structure management, including disclosure statements, and completing incurred cost submissions
Closely partners with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function to support data needs and analysis.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Active Certified Public Accountant required
10+ years of experience in accountingwith a minimum of 5 years in global accounting roles with daily interactions with global entities, foreigh currency and statutory reporting outside the US
5+ years of supervisory experience
Experience with global consolidations and financial statement preparation
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Experience with acquisition integrations preferred
Experience with ERP implementations is a plus
Experience working with external auditors
Experience with a private equity-backed business is a plus
Experience working in a Federal Government Contracting environment is a plus
