American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to establish and maintain a comprehensive community service agency with a diversified funding source serving the needs of Veterans, their families, and other individuals of the community who are in need. Our goal is to establish innovative programs of service for the contemporary needs, through an expansion and growth policy that will seek complimentary services that will generate self-sustaining mechanisms for the organization.
SUMMARY
AGIF-NVOP is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Technical Support Specialist (TSS). This is an entry level role, so college graduates are encouraged to apply! The IT TSS is responsible for assisting customers with technical issues or questions relating to phones, email, copier/fax, computer hardware and/or software devices. Duties include taking phone calls from customers or communicating with them through messaging platforms, helping customers diagnose technical issues over the phone and speaking with them about their computers as instructed by their direct supervisor, the Director of IT. The IT TSS will maintain computer systems and networks in order to achieve the highest functionality and optimize the role of technology. The IT TSS will address daily IT needs including developing IT profiles for new employees, troubleshooting IT issues, conducting patches and upgrades, training for new equipment/software, maintaining IT equipment inventories and any other IT needs as determined by the Director of IT.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Handling customer technical support through phone and email submission
Installation of PC hardware and/or software as deemed necessary by Director of IT
Check and maintain office hardware such as mouse, keyboard, phone
Install, configure and manage software and their functions according to specifications
Develop and maintain local networks only as instructed by Director of IT
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Assist in training, development and education for new software and hardware
Troubleshoot to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes
Maintain hardware and software inventory
Maintain expenses per Director of IT
Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders when necessary
Other functions not specified here directed by the Director of IT

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field and 1 year of experience in the field.
Bachelor's degree preferred
In leu of degree, 6 years of experience in the IT Career field will be considered if no other candidates meet the qualifications and expectations with the President/CEO’s approval.
Working for a non-profit is a plus.
