Job Description - Client Accounting Services Quarterback (Staff Accountant)
Mission and Summary for Your Role: As a Client Accounting Services Quarterback, you will be responsible for providing support to our clients by assisting with the day-to-day management of their accounting and financial needs. You will work closely with the Client Accounting Services Manager and the CEO to provide accurate and timely financial information and analysis to our clients, while also helping to implement new processes and procedures to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of reconciliations to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of outstanding activity
- First level preparation of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Review of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including the recording of transactions and the reconciliation of accounts
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
- Help project manage party payroll providers, tax accountants and other 3rd party professionals quarterbacking our clients if they have any questions and ensuring all parties have what is needed to execute their respective responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of new processes and procedures to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness
- Work closely with the Client Accounting Services Manager to provide feedback on client processes and procedures, and to recommend improvements
- Provide support to the Client Accounting Services Manager as needed
- Identify and communicate any issues or concerns to the Client Accounting Services Manager
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge
- Begin to develop and exercise management skills through interaction with and delegation to our offshore counterparts and review of their work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Previous accounting or finance internship or career experience is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to represent our firm and culture with professionalism to our clients and community
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software and systems
- CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus
As a staff accountant, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and help entrepreneurial businesses grow. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
