This role is open to remote candidates and candidates within a commutable distance of our Irvine, CA, corporate headquarters. This role is non-exempt hourly and pays $16.00 an hour, dependent on experience.
Negotiators are responsible for working directly with creditors to build rapport and obtain the best settlements for our clients' unsecured debt. The Negotiator handles a pipeline of active accounts, manages client documentation, works under deadlines, and provides outstanding customer service to the Clients, Creditors, and Internal departments.
Responsibilities:
- Contact creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices to negotiate a reduced settlement on delinquent and/or charged-off accounts on behalf of our clients
- Meet designated KPIs surrounding settlement performance and pipeline liquidation
- Effectively manage an open queue of accounts to consistently hit your monthly production goal
- Calculate acceptable settlement amounts according to guidelines set forth by the department
- Review client accounts to determine the availability of funds
- Gather and submit the required documentation for approval and payment of settlements and fees
- Reviews settlement letters for accuracy
- Maintains professional relationships with internal departments and customers
Requirements:
- PREFERRED: 1+ years of experience with debt settlement negotiations, collections, mortgage loan processing, or customer service
- Ability to meet and exceed monthly goals
- Strong math skills are helpful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management
- Ability to multitask
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Office Suite
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
