**Must be a City of Miramar Resident to Participate**Earn while you learn! This position offers training and career development for youth in the community. Apprentice will be assigned a mentor and gain the necessary exposure to develop a greater understanding of IT concepts. Responsibilities will include resolving hardware, software, end-users’ computer-related problems on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities will incrementally increase to match skill-sets. Work may be performed across multiple platforms and technologies. Additional certifications may be recommended. This apprenticeship program will help students gain real-world experience in Information Technology.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Must be a City of Miramar residentHigh school diploma or GED Current enrollment in a technical program and/or pursuing a certificate or degree in Information Technology or related field.Candidates must be between the ages of 18-26Must be able to work the required 20 hours per weekMust have the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functionsAcceptable drug test results, background check, and fit for duty evaluation upon job offerPhysically able to perform tradeTransportation to attend classes and work assignmentsAbility to commit to a two-year work contractTwo (2) letters of recommendation: One (1) letter of moral character; and,One (1) letter from reference that supports the candidate’s ability to perform duties of the program
