Job Description
Overview:
Responsible for completing and maintaining charge services within the Cerner application to include, but not limited to, maintenance of CDM, CPT/HCPCS codes, revenue codes, and tiering logic. Coordinates with hospital departments to complete DCW (Department Charge Worksheets) for Cerner. Responsible for all activity related to Medicare’s Recovery Audit and Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE), as well as all other appeals and denials associated with Revenue Integrity.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a clinical discipline preferred
Prior billing or coding experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Patient Accounting, Case Management, Internal Audit, or Coding.
Additional Skill/Abilities:
Understands clinical and financial processes within a hospital-based healthcare system
Clear and effective communication skills with strong professional interpersonal skills.
Knowledgeable in medical terminology, coding, healthcare billing guidelines, and audit process
Proficiency in Word and Excel
Able to work in fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently
