Job Description
Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a skilled, full-time Psychiatrist to work in our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) to provide medication evaluations, medication management, and psychiatric assessments for the team. It is an in-person daytime job supported by a staff of other prescribers who cover the duties of the Psychiatrist during off hours. When the beds at the CSU are not filled, the Psychiatrist will support the Psychiatric Access Clinic by providing medication evaluations and/or supporting those who need to be seen quickly.

Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.

Salary for this role.*
Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.

About the team.*
The CSU team is a multidisciplinary team that consists of nurses, a prescriber, mental health clinicians and case management staff who work together to provide state-of-the-art care to patients who need support in the midst of a mental health crisis. Additional professionals staff a five-day overnight unit that supplies patients with 24/7 psychiatric care, psychotherapy, and social interventions.

Five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days. 100% onsite.

About you.*
The ideal candidate is passionate about providing mental health care, is experienced or desires to gain more experience providing care to those in crisis. This role is for those who enjoy working with a team to arrive at solutions and deliver expert care to patients in the midst of mental health crises.

Responsibilities:*
- Provide direct medical and psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis as within the scope of State care.
- Assure clinicians in assigned services receive appropriate clinical supervision, as necessary.
- Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
- Share 24-hour on call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
- Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
- Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
- Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
- Provide consultation with other physicians and staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
- Attend continuing medical education conferences to maintain excellent standards of care, on a regular basis.
- Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
- Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
- Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
- Accurately and completely document patient care.
- Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients' care team.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine/Osteopathy. Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in Psychiatry (DO/MDs only).
- Preferred: three years of relevant clinical work experience.\*\*
- State of Colorado Medical License and Valid Prescriptive Authority in good standing.
- Valid and Current DEA.
