Job Description
The Global Development Group (‘GDG’) at SK (affiliated to SK Group) is a U.S.-based global corporate development organization that provides strategy, advisory, execution, and integration management services to existing SK operating companies. GDG is responsible for supporting affiliated companies with new investment opportunities that foster group-wide inorganic growth in the U.S. GDG’s corporate development activities encompass M&A, equity investment and strategic partnerships. Closely interacting with the senior leadership team in SK Group, GDG proposes a diverse set of investment theses on a regular basis that requires comprehensive research and in-depth analysis. GDG's research work will include market research (industry, company, and competitor analysis), which requires both qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data, present the findings, and produce substantiated recommendations.
The Associate will principally be responsible for market research and data collection during the investment thesis building and due-diligence process. The Associate will frequently be required to interpret various data, formulate professional reports, and make recommendations based upon the research findings. The Associate must be a team player who can communicate well with her/his teammates, a multitasker who can prioritize things and meet deadlines while preparing multiple deliverables, and a self-starter who can work well without detailed supervision.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Research target industries & companies, and conduct in-depth analyses using traditional and advanced methods
Prepare market research and competitive intelligence to identify insights that drive key decisions across the organization
Assist peers in preparing a variety of documents and reports including memos/presentations in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Assist peers in financial analysis and company valuation, developing financial models using in-depth analytical techniques
Lead and support various ad-hoc analysis of operational and financial results, as needed, in support of GDG’s strategy
Required Skills:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
Proficiency in using the Internet and private & public database as a resource for finding information
Expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other productivity-related applications
Ability to perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis of markets
Other Preferred Status/Background:
Authorized to work in the US
3+ Years of Work experience
Expertise in clean tech business (Chemical or Engineering background is a plus)
Work experience of conducting extensive market research in consulting firms, investment banking, and corporations
MBA graduate or bachelors in business, finance, economics or related field
Bilingual (English/Korean) communication skills (written/spoken) is a plus, but not a must
Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position $90,000 - $140,000 . Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related skills and experience.
