The role: To support our mission of democratizing finance, PayPal is seeking exceptional professionals to develop actionable insights for guiding senior leaders. We enable decision-making with a deep understanding of customers, market needs, business drivers and emerging opportunities from an outside-in perspective.
The ask: To succeed in this role, you’ll need expertise in market research, problem solving, influencing, storytelling, and executive-level communication. You’ll be working with senior stakeholders, from the C-suite to operational leaders, across geographies, businesses, and functions to bring clarity to their most pressing decisions. You’ll be responsible for conducting research that illuminate the market, product, and customer landscape for the entire organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Understand business problems and translate into research briefs
Execute market research studies end-to-end: proposal, design, questionnaire preparation, analysis, and presentation
Collaborate with different PayPal teams (e.g. Product, Sales, Marketing, Analytics) to bring together a cross-functional perspective on customer insights and their business implications
Synthesize research insights and implications for executive consumption in a way that facilitates decision making
Stay up to date with new research methods/tech
Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. statistics / mathematics / economics)
5+ years of hands-on experience conducting research end-to-end (e.g. at market research firm or research function within larger organizations)
Strong technical and analytical skills, and a passion for learning new research methodologies (e.g. conjoint, max/diff, regressions, social listening, ethnographies)
Experience with common research tools (e.g. Sawtooth, SPSS) and/or coding languages (e.g. R, SQL)
A proven track record of solving complex business issues with customer insights and developing actionable recommendations
Talent for simplifying complex ideas and communicating them in ways others can easily understand (both verbally and via email/PowerPoint)
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and deliver impact in a timely manner
Adept project management skills to drive towards output creation in a cross functional setting
Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales and Marketing. Ability to ask the right questions and push the thinking where required
MBA or relevant degree from world-class academic institution is a plus
Experience in financial services / payment industry is a plus

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $64000 to $156750
