Unclaimed Property Compliance Specialist – CSC Finance Team
This position will be responsible for the administration of Unclaimed Property at CSC. Specific responsibilities will include the maintenance of unclaimed property policies and procedures as well as working with business units and other departments to ensure that unclaimed property is being properly identified and accounted for in compliance with policies and procedures. This position will also support the accurate and timely preparation of Unclaimed Property State Filings.
Some of the things you will be doing:
Ensure that CSC’s Unclaimed Property policy remains up to date and state requirements are met. Communicate changes as necessary.
Maintain accurate Unclaimed Property process and procedures documentation.
Ensure data is validated with appropriate teams for filings
Unclaimed Property/Escheat Account Reconciliation and journal entries
Work with appropriate business units and other service areas to ensure that unclaimed property is being identified in accordance with policy and that supporting data meets reporting requirements.
In correlation with the CSC Tax Team and Unclaimed Property consultants, compile and validate unclaimed property eligible for annual remittance to States.
Work with CSC Tax Team and Unclaimed Property consultants to send out Unclaimed Property notifications to customers/recipients. Coordinate follow up actions based upon responses received.
Prepare and/or validate Unclaimed Property filings of reportable items. Coordinate remittance with Accounts Payable team.
Address any State inquiries or notifications received. Coordinate responses with Tax Team or Unclaimed Property consultants.
Coordinate the identification and collection of Unclaimed Property due to CSC. Complete necessary filing forms and follow up on status.
What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?
3-5 years of experience in a relevant field such as Accounts Payable, Accounting or Finance.
Associates or Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
Proven knowledge and experience working in accounting systems.
High quality verbal and written communication skills.
Be a self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Consistently produce high-quality, professional deliverables on schedule.
