Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Assistant supports and collaborates on the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan and annual marketing and communications plan. This position will help drive admissions, highlight exploration, theatre, and play programming, encourage event attendance, increase philanthropic support, and highlight community engagement and partnerships.
The Marketing & Communications Assistant is part of the Advancement Team, creating and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring CMTM receives the authentic engagement and philanthropic support it needs to thrive. In addition to this position, the Advancement Team consists of the Executive Director, Director of Marketing & Communications, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Director of Development, Development Manager, and Development Associate.
The ideal candidate will have prior non-profit and or marketing experience, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite, and be well-versed and passionate about various social media platforms.
POSITION SUMMARY
● Assist with researching, creating, and scheduling brand-aligned content for donor
stewardship communications, social media channels, Squarespace website,
Google Business and other platforms
● Assist with writing stories about donors, programs, events, and exhibits for
diverse audiences and publishing them on a wide range of platforms
● Assist the MarCom team and other departments in promoting events and programs follow a marketing checklist
● Assist in developing and executing cultivation, fundraising, and media events;
● Assist in designing and printing promotional materials for events, shows, and
programming
● Collaborate within and across departments, draft, and schedule e-newsletters according to an editorial calendar
● Assist with gathering and tracking marketing analytics
● Assist with interacting with followers, members, and visitors online on social
media platforms and business listings
● Support CMTM’s Strategic Plan and Goals through actions as identified by the team and supervisor
● Perform other duties as identified by supervisor, including weekly floor check and covering front desk check-in as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
● A combination of education and/or experience supporting marketing and communications efforts in a professional capacity;
● Successful candidates will have excellent organizational, written, and oral communications skills and keyboarding skills;
● Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and website publishing is a plus.
● Prior experience in the nonprofit sector or with mission-driven organizations is a plus.

SCHEDULE
This is a part-time hourly position, 24 hours a week.
Flexible schedule, Monday - Friday.
COMPENSATION
$19.19 / hour plus $6,000 annual benefit pay, which can be used toward a cafeteria plan of benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short & long-term disability, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, 4013B (retirement) plan, HSA, or taken as pay in lieu of benefits.

CMTM has an equitable system of pay that offers a base rate based on position, longevity pay increases over time, merit-based raise opportunities, and cost of living base wage updates. This system is designed for equity, and as such, we do not have the ability to negotiate the compensation listed above.
