Job Description
Overview:
The Product Solution Architect, Payment is a senior architecture role and is responsible for product technical and capability design, balancing solution and operational elegance with financial pragmatism across the spectrum of NASCO’s healthcare payment products and solutions. The individual in this position is knowledgeable in all aspects of design, engineering and deployment of product solutions across diverse hosting environments, including public cloud and on premises midrange or mainframe platforms. The Product Solution Architect is fluent in common application models including high throughput transactional processing, interoperable eco-system components, analytics and operational reporting solutions, micro service component architecture, and high availability design patterns. The right individual has professional experience with modern agile CICSCD pipeline engineering practices in on premises and cloud IaaS and PaaS models, contributes strategic technical thought leadership to product management, and provides pattern-based thought leadership to engineering teams for product functional and non-functional design according to standards and accepted best practices. This role is responsible for completing regular product solution reviews to ensure compliance with agreed to designs and ongoing alignment to product technical roadmaps.
Focus on the alignment of technical strategy and product solution design with product management vision and roadmap. The Product Solution Architect will contribute to, and may have responsibility for, the Payment Product Technology Roadmap. Additional focus on the incorporation of existing and emerging technologies into those technical roadmaps and acting as a trusted technical advisor to influence product management and product engineering leadership. Actively participates in architecture governance, including creation, maintenance, peer review, and approval recommendations.
Responsible for customer requirements, governance policies, and communication within the organization, customers, and vendors to educate and drive compliance with the technical strategy, adoption of architecture standards, and application of best practices.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development and maintenance of the product technical roadmap in support of the product vision and strategy, optimizing the long term financial value and manageability of proposed designs and ensuring the product viability by incorporating current and emerging technologies where value can be generated
Defines, analyzes and documents architectural requirements for solution data integration, workflow, logical processes, platform environment, software, and system interfaces
Develops and maintains sustainable portfolio solutions ensuring ease of integration
Analyzes healthcare industry and technology trends to identify potential product risks and opportunities
Evaluates and recommends technical scope and direction changes during engineering sprints
Interacts with customer architecture community to align NASCO product technical direction with product adoption opportunities
Provides guidance to and collaborates with other architects, operations, technical partners and product engineering teams
Ability to visualize and communicate the technical vision for the product (big picture) in an effective and influential way
Assists in the development of team members by inspiring them, encouraging them, and providing constructive feedback to help them improve performance
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
10-15 years of progressive experience in product design and transformation in multiple environments, with leadership responsibilities
3-5 years of experience in successful architecture and technical strategy formulation and alignment with the business
Deep knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design, build, test, and deployment techniques in public cloud and on-premises hosting models
Knowledge of financial models, operating cost models and outsourcing arrangements
Demonstrated leadership skills in a combined onshore/offshore multi-vendor outsourced environment
Excellent analytical and technical solution design/modeling skills
Ability to understand the long-term (big picture) and short-term perspectives of situations to design solutions that support the business strategy
Ability to translate product strategy into architecture roadmaps
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies and identify cost effective opportunities to apply them
Willing and able to bear high levels of responsibility: making decisions, being accountable

Required Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Certifications
TOGAF certifications
AWS, GCP, or Azure Certified Practitioner Certification
