The Community Outreach Manager will work with the Executive Director to develop and launch community outreach strategy for APA. The ultimate purpose of this newly created position is to raise awareness on the work done by APA in the SF Bay Area. The successful candidate will participate in community activities to enhance recognition, manage social media, seek out additional funding opportunities and to sustain partnerships with business and other non-profit organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement a community outreach plan for APA that supports and aligns with APA’s mission
- Manage and support the marketing and promotion of APA, its programs, and events
- Contribute to marketing materials (including website) to maintain consistent message between press mentions, social media, radio mentions, and other forms of marketing channels
- Develop and maintain various social media sites (LinkedIn, Instagram) including content creation
- Identify and coordinate the community outreach opportunities and work in collaboration on events
- Assist in the identification of community groups that would mutually benefit from the partnership
- Serve as a liaison to specific community groups identified
- Assist in “Capacity Training” efforts by coordinating classes and preparing training materials internally and externally. These efforts are to provide in-house expertise to support other non-profit organizations to build capacity
- Build and manage positive relationships with businesses and community leaders
- Manage and expand the newly established APA Volunteer Network
- Perform other duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
- Passionate about APA’s mission and purpose
- Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred but not required
- Excellent presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of social media and experience using these platforms to promote APA’s online presence
- Organized, strategic thinker who is attentive to details and can collaborate effectively
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks and goals in a timely manner
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience
- Experience with a non-profit is preferred but not required
- Bilingual in Cantonese or Mandarin is preferred

APA is also the lead for Visitacion Valley Strong Families (VVSF) family resource center. The mission of VVSF is to engage, strengthen, and empower Visitacion Valley (VV) families while encouraging and supporting them to become advocates for themselves and be active in the community. VVSF strives to achieve and engage families who are at risk of child abuse, truancy, neglect, mental health problems, and domestic violence.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
