This role will need to be at our Roswell, GA office once a month. The rest of time the candidate can work remotely.
Position Overview:
This position functions as a key member of the Corporate Accounting team and includes extensive involvement in the month end close process, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support. This individual will work directly with business partners in the field as well as finance to resolve issues, ensure compliance, and provide reporting assistance. This position is expected to play an important role in the company’s internal control activities in support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Accounting - Performs financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, with an emphasis on inventory accounting and intercompany accounting. Knowledge/prior experience with Microsoft D365 F&O is a plus.
Significant duties include:
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in compliance with GAAP.
Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations for selected accounts.
Research inventory transactions, determine the proper accounting treatment, and recommend corrections to the transaction originator.
Develop, document, implement, and manage intercompany accounting process, controls, and systems.
Assist with interim and annual audits, preparation of supporting schedules, analyses and audited financial statement documentation.
Ensure controls and procedural compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley.
Research accounting issues as needed.
Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting processes, systems, and reporting.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability as the company grows.
Assist other co-workers with related tasks as necessary.
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Reporting and Analysis – ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. This individual will provide analysis and reporting for selected balance sheet accounts, as well as assistance with project work and ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
Policies and Procedures – develop, document, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and policies to ensure proper internal control and compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including periodic controls documentation updates and testing.
Travel requirement is <5%.
Skills We Are Seeking::
Education:
BS in Accounting or comparable business degree is required.
CPA or CPA track is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 4+ years of experience in an accounting role; public accounting experience is a plus.
Minimum 2+ years in an accounting close.
Experience with Microsoft D365 F&O or similar scale ERP platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience is preferred.
